When you click the Hosts File Analyzer link, you can view all entries in your hosts file. Files that are suspicious are labeled "Suspect". Select a file and click Remove to remove it from your computer.

The hosts file on your computer acts like a phone book for the Internet. When you try to access a web page, such as www.tenebril.com, your computer first looks at its hosts file to see if it has an entry for that web site. If it has no entry for the particular site, your computer checks the Internet for it.

Spyware can add incorrect entries into your hosts file to prevent you from reaching web sites that could help you remove the spyware. Spyware also uses the hosts file to redirect legitimate web pages to advertising-related pages.
